Project brief

The discolouration of the building on the Isle of Wight had progressively deteriorated. Our client had previously considered and applied alternative methods of cleaning which failed to achieve their desired outcome. This resulted in exploring alternative methods of cleaning, to bring the Exterior façade back to its former glory.

Coastline Facilities Support Services LTD were then approached by Vestas to find an alternative cleaning solution. With the project having only 5 working days from launch to completion, to then showcase the building to its full potential for an investor. We then prepared a comprehensive project plan for Exterior Façade Cleaning.

Solution

Our site visit for Exterior Façade Cleaning concluded that the building required a biocidal treatment to be applied with steam, on a building that exceeds 27 metres. In addition we arranged the required MWEPS and cleaning machinery to be on site within 48 hours of project approval. Our client focused approach was essential when programming our for Exterior Façade Cleaning working schedule, as the site is operational 24 hours a day, 7 day a week. This played a major part in the planning, factoring this into the project programme.

Outcome

Our teams relocated from Southampton to the Isle of Wight for the 4 operational project, to maximise the working day and deliver an Exterior Façade Cleaning service that provided value. This project was highly effective in meeting the desired outcome of the project brief, bringing the Exterior Façade back to its former glory.

Project brief

Following the success of our many exterior cleaning projects with Novus, we are frequently approached when they require new project plans. Our client required a plan to include the exterior painting of all balconies, a full survey of the render to determine the most suitable method of cleaning, also the building height indicated a need for cost effective access equipment.

We are fully trained in working at height and our previous work with Novus gave us valuable insight into the types of access equipment and machinery that was required. Having previously completed many high-level maintenance and cleaning projects, our teams hold the skills and training to complete exterior cleaning and maintenance services to the highest of standards.

Solution

To produce a clean, bright finish to the building we determined that a Softwash chemical treatment was the most effective method of cleaning the render. Inline with the client brief, to create a professional finish to the balconies, we used an exterior weather shield paint, applied by our fully trained professional painting team. We produced a cost effective project plan that saved our client considerable costs for access equipment, to include only small sections of fixed scaffolding and a cherry picker on all remaining areas.

Outcome

Our cleaning and maintenance teams worked together to create a cleaner and brighter finish to the building. They painted all exterior balconies and applied a soft wash render cleaning treatment, which was cost effective. The project plan saved our client considerable costs for access equipment and was effective in meeting the desired outcome of the project brief, bringing the building back up to its full potential.
